Preschool Experience

At Makarim Academy, the Preschool Experience provides a nurturing, hands-on, and joyful foundation for children’s early development. Our preschool program welcomes children from 0 months to 2 years, guided by a dedicated Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher who create a warm and supportive environment inspired by Montessori, CBC (Competency-Based Curriculum), and Finnish early childhood education principles.

Our focus is on developing the whole child — socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually — through practical life activities and meaningful play. Children learn through real-life experiences that build independence, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Daily experiences include:

• Practical Life Skills – learning to brush teeth, wash hands, fold clothes, pour water, tidy up, set tables, and care for classroom plants and pets.
• Social Development – participating in group play, sharing, taking turns, and helping others, which fosters empathy and cooperation.
• Sensorial Exploration – engaging with Montessori materials that refine touch, sight, sound, and coordination.
• Language and Communication – developing early language through songs, stories, circle time, and show-and-tell.
• Creative Expression – exploring art, music, dance, and role-play, allowing imagination and confidence to flourish.
• Outdoor Learning – enjoying gardening, nature walks, and free play to build gross motor skills and environmental awareness.
• Emotional Growth – practicing mindfulness, self-regulation, and positive communication to build emotional intelligence and self-esteem.

In this carefully prepared and child-centered environment, young learners are free to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace. The goal is to nurture curiosity, independence, and joy in learning — laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success
